Whether, in times past, you received an invitation to the Open Festival or a round table discussion on social entrepreneurship, all messages sent from us have the same starting place - we wish to make the world a little bit better.

It all began in 2003 with activism and a lot of punk attitude. We rolled-up our sleeves and started to take steps forward despite all.

In the humble beginnings we: organized workshops and theme festivals (Festival of Open Technologies, Book Festival) as well as secured access to resources for people in Međimurje (computer classrooms, libraries and reading rooms, vegan diet, a guide through good practices, etc.). ACT Group has been growing, learning, establishing, experimenting and running against a brick wall, and with time became the first Croatian consortium of social enterprises.

Examples of good practices, which we discovered and described in our guides, were not enough, so we built ventures ourselves. That gave birth to enterprises which were the answer to many shortcomings in the Croatian ecosystem. Six enterprises, which we helped deliver into this world, are today independent and successfully trading in the. At the end of 2019, that social business concern was dissolved – members outgrew their parents and, over time, bought out ACT Group’s shares. Social cooperative Humana Nova, ACT Printlab, ACT Konto, Centre for Home Assistance Međimurje, and agricultural cooperative Najbolje Lokalno are part of AG family and we continue to support each other.

Because our venture building proved to be successful, we dared to offer open up our support. We’ve been implementing support programs for impact entrepreneurs since 2016. First we founded enterprises and later found ourselves consulting many entrepreneurs. We advocate for impact entrepreneurship. Impact entrepreneurs are those entrepreneurs who, next to profit, make another positive return – the return for the society or the environment.

We’ve been growing together with our community. Always driven by purpose, because we can do better, and we are responsible for sharing that knowledge. Today we belong to an international network and employ high-quality and unique experts. Some of our partners include: Philip Morris, Google.org, YBI, RBA, EFSE DF, Erste Stiftung, Erste Social Bank, Hamag Bicro, WSA… We are members of Euclid and Diesis.
